Connect to Our summer meeting point
Do you think you have seen it all in eTwinning? If you really think so, take a look at a project with new and surprsing ideas: it's called Our summer meeting point and, even though it may seem strange, it has been led during holiday periods.
Just like a summer adventure, Maria Sourgiadaki, from the Lyceum of Ierapetra Vocational School (Greece) and Aureo Torres, from Marista Castilla school (Spain), decided to start this project, which has been joined by another 59 teachers who wish to share some of their time doing something connected with their common job.
As if they were students, teachers have collaborated in the development of a blog full of interesting educational articles and possibilities. Like in most eTwinning projects, participants have been able to meet and learn about their environment to then share opinions and reflections about different aspects and educational fields (art, music, poetry, innovation, culture, resources, methodology, etc.) and develop ideas, as well as meet partners for future eTwinning projects.
Without forgetting it was summer, they have also had the chance to look for possible holiday destinations, and who could be a better travel agent than the actual locals from these 18 European locations?
With the large number of educational sites and resources available nowadays, the result, Our summer meeting point, is a great window for them, with the advantage that it is backed up by colleagues' opinions and direct experience. For the teachers involved in this project it will be easier to transmit to their students the advantages and possibilities offered by eTwinning, as well as anticipate to the beginning of the school year in the planning of new projects.
eTwinning is proud of having been chosen to go on this amazing trip around European education. Visit their blog
