Does eTwinning finance real exchanges?
No. eTwinning facilitates the search for educational institutions and offers different communication tools and a virtual workspace for exchanges and cooperation, as well as advice from the National Support Service, but it does not offer any type of financing.
How can I register for the eTwinning training course?
The course is given through the on-line training service at the Institute of Educational Technologies. There are normally two registration announcements per year, one in January and another in September. The information will appear at the appropriate time on the web page of the National Support Service.
What is the Central Support Service (CSS)?
It is the team formed by staff from the European Schoolnet (EUN), with its headquarters in Brussels. It is charged with coordinating eTwinning initiatives at the European level, together with the European Commission.
It also has a multilingual portal and offers a series of on-line services, including teacher training activities.
What is the National Support Service (NSS)?
Es el equipo de asesores que facilita un contacto nacional para el profesor que participa en la acción eTwinning. Proporciona información, ayuda en sus necesidades y resuelve las dudas que surgen.
Junto con el Servicio Central de Apoyo (SCA), elige ejemplos de buenas prácticas que mostrar en el portal eTwinning y establece los criterios para la concesión de los Sellos de Calidad y los Premios eTwinning, además de colaborar en la organización de otras actividades de eTwinning..
En España está integrado en el Instituto de Tecnologías Educativas (ITE) del Ministerio de Educación.
What countries participate in eTwinning?
In 2010, the number of participating countries was 32, the members of the European Union and another 5 which do not belong to it: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Rumania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and United Kingdom.
